Senate Museum
Mian Raza Rabbani, as Chairman Senate, was keen to have a historic rendering of the Institution of the Senate. He had been inspired by other countries that very proudly depict the evolution of their democratic institutions. He was the Chief Curator of this museum and developed the concept with his team. Lok Virsa took the lead for the implementation of his vision and CDA helped out in infrastructural changes.
The museum showcases the genesis of the Senate, when it became a part of the Constitution in 1973, the earlier buildings where sessions were held before the current parliament building, the breaks in the continuity because of the unconstitutional dissolution of the Senate and the incremental progress the Senate made in getting its scope expanded. In addition, Mian Raza Rabbani wanted young people to understand how the Senate represents all Federating units equally and also for them to develop a link with the very first Chair and the founders of the Senate.
